Ellis Island

Please avoid weekends or holidays. On busy days like Saturdays and Sundays, there will be approximately 60-minute wait to purchase ferry tickets at the booth and another 90-minute wait to pass through the security checkpoint in order to board the ferry. A photo identification card is not required but personal belongings are subject to random search. The ferry runs every 20-30 minutes and will make its first stop on Liberty Island. The journey is approximately 10 minutes.
